Colts win big at home against the Las Vegas Raiders.
In Week 5, Colts emerged victorious against the Raiders with a score of 40-6.
The Indianapolis Colts (4-1) routed the Las Vegas Raiders (1-4) 40–6 in Week 5 behind a dominant offensive performance led by running back Jonathan Taylor. After a slow start, the Colts went on to score 40 unanswered points.The Raiders started strong, marching down the field for an almost 10-minute drive that ended with a 24-yard field goal from Daniel Carlson. This would be the Raiders only score until the final quarter. The 34-point margin of victory was the Colts largest since 2013 against the Jaguars.
Quarterback Daniel Jones completed 20 of 29 for 212 yards and two touchdowns .Jonathan Taylor contributed with 17 rushes for 66 yards and three touchdowns. Rookie Tyler Warren added his first career receiving touchdown. The Colts defense stood strong, forcing two interceptions from Raiders quarterback Geno Smith, sacking him four times, and preventing the Raiders from getting in the end zone. The offensive line successfully held the Raiders pass rush, led by Maxx Crosby, who managed to evade sacks throughout the game, thus ending their 39-game sack streak.
For the Raiders, it was their fourth consecutive loss. Rookie Ashton Jeanty had a productive game with 14 rushes for 67 yards and added 5 catches for 42 yards. Quarterback Geno Smith continues to struggle with turnovers. He completed 25 of 36 for 228 yards and two costly interceptions, one coming in the red zone.
Although the Colts secured a victory, they unfortunately lost K Spencer Shrader and veteran cornerback Mike Hilton, who were placed on injured reserve.
