Colts signed LB Anthony Walker Jr. to the practice squad.
A familiar face makes a return to Indianapolis.
In a recent move, the Colts have brought back a familiar face. They signed veteran linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. to their practice squad while releasing defensive tackle Josh Tupou from the practice squad.
Walker Jr. was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round (161st overall pick) in the 2017 NFL Draft from Northwestern University. Throughout his four seasons with the team (2017-2020), he started in 48 games. Initially, he was a special teams player, but he gradually developed into a starting player and led the team in tackles from 2018 to 2020. However, after the 2020 season, the Colts decided not to renew his contract, which led to his signing a free agent deal with the Cleveland Browns.
Since leaving the Cleveland Browns, he has played for the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, starting a total of 35 games. Walker Jr. has recorded 581 career tackles (362 solo), 26.0 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 21 passes defensed, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and 10 special teams stops. He has also started three postseason games, contributing 12 tackles (seven solo) and 1.0 tackle for loss.
