The Indianapolis Colts are making sure one of their young defensive players stay put
The Colts have signed defensive tackle Adetomiwa Adebawore to a two-year, $35 million extension, keeping him under contract through the 2028 season. The deal includes a $13 million signing bonus and $22.5 million in guaranteed money.
Adebawore continues to show why the Colts believe in his potential. Through eight games, he has recorded 19 tackles, 4 sacks, 8 quarterback hits and 4 tackles for loss. With DeForest Buckner now in San Francisco, his role becomes even more important as Indianapolis looks to reshape its defensive front.
My Take
I like this move. You can’t continue trading away established players without keeping young talent that can help build the future. At 25 years old, Adebawore has shown plenty of potential, and the Colts are betting that his best football is still ahead of him. Now it’s time for him to prove he can be a consistent difference-maker on the defensive line.
